My name is Kevin Mosby, financial coach and owner of Mosby Financial Coaching. I provide support to people looking to build healthy habits with their money. I adopt a customized approach to each client, offering personalized solutions. I am married (22 years and counting) and we share three children. With 28 years of property & casualty insurance industry experience, I bring a wealth of knowledge and valuable perspective to my coaching practice. Why Financial Coaching?
My journey to financial coaching started after the birth of my first child. At that time, my wife and I worked full-time and were in a dual-income household making an excess of six figures. We were responsible with our money (so we thought) and were excited to welcome our first child into the world. However, we were not prepared for what would happen next. Our firstborn daughter was born with special needs. She required immediate medical attention after her birth and now requires lifelong support.
My wife and I were not prepared for the financial toll caring for a child with special needs creates, and we fell into tremendous debt. At one point, we carried over $68,000 in unsecured debt! We had no support, no plan to recover, and had to discover solutions on our own. We worked to eliminate our debt through years of dedication, trial-and-error, and hard work. Through that process we learned so much about personal finance, navigating special needs support resources, and how to advocate on behalf of our children.
These experiences have ignited my passion and desire for financial coaching. I want to share lessons I've learned so others can enjoy financial freedom, even amid a life-changing journey of caring for an individual with special needs.
